The Glock 34 brings some deadly differences that really make it stand out as a competition firearm. Some might say it was made with shooters in mind. The question is whether it's worth buying, even if you don't shoot competitively. Read on to learn more about the Glock 34.

The first thing you notice about the Glock 34 is the size, and it's pretty silly looking dimensions as far as Glocks go. The 34 is an almost comical eight inches and a difference. Everything else is very classic Glock style. Now I think it sounds a bit silly, I must say

Anyway, I like the look. Well, mostly. I'm not a big fan of the slide cut at the top. I understand your point, I just don't like it that much.
Of course, these differences in slide and barrel length are not meaningless differences. With its long barrel (5.3 inches), you will see impressive accuracy from this pistol. On a really good day I could mark targets in groups under 1 inch, but at 25 yards the average was 2 inches. not bad! The Glock 34 is sure to be killer if you take it to a shooting match. I found it very laser like when I hit a red dot on it.
Recoil is also a bit soft, even for a Glock. Compared to the Glock 17 (the full-size and smaller version of the 34), the kick is less and it's much easier to get solid sights for quick follow-up shots. This lack of recoil really sets it apart from potential shooters.
One thing I won't touch on the Glock 34 is using it as a carry gun. It is very bulky and difficult to carry, especially as a concealed weapon. I knew there was no point in disguising it, but I was sure of it. No way would I use the 34 as a carry gun. It's good outside of the waistband, but I'm not interested in wearing it open.

Everything else about the pistol is classic Glock. Looks, performance and reliability are exactly what you expect. The Gen 3 is a bit pricey at about $630, but if you're a competitor, it's worth it.
I don't race often, but I love the Glock 34. It's a lot of fun to die correctly without much effort. It's not really usable for concealed carry, but it wasn't designed to be either. It's designed for precision photography, and it does it perfectly.

The CZ-USA Shadow 2 and its predecessor, the SP-01 Shadow, are next on our list, with 27 percent of shooters at the 2017 Production Nationals naming one or the other. And for good reason – both Shadow models offer great, bargain-priced pistols with high-quality features worthy of the CZ pistol family. No list of popular USPSA production guns would be complete without a representation of the OG brand of polymer-framed, percussion-fired guns. The Glock G34 was the fourth most popular mass-produced handgun among shooters surveyed, at nine percent overall. With a longer 8.15-inch slide, extended 5.31-inch barrel, and longer sight radius than the original G17, this 9mm has not only been optimized for competition for generations, but is also popular with law enforcement. As an added bonus, the G34 rear sight is adjustable. The latest Gen5 (pictured) improves the design with a more accurate Glock barrel, ambidextrous anti-slip levers, and eliminates finger grooves on the grip. At 23.1 ounces (Gen4), this is the lightest pistol listed here, thanks to the large cut-out at the top of the slide. The G34 Gen5 lacks the slide cutout, but the MOS plate with lightning cutout underneath reduces weight to 23.46 ounces (empty). Winner of the Golden Bull's Eye Handgun of the Year Award, the P320 has skyrocketed in popularity among law enforcement and the military. 4 percent of USPSA product shooters used the P320 at the 2017 Nationals, ranking sixth—and also the least expensive on the list. Improvements include an X-Series grip module with a larger triggerguard undercut, taller backstraps, and an extended beavertail and carbon steel bull tube for improved recoil performance. The sliding mount is extended and has a removable shaft. The slide is lightened, the sight radius jumps one value over the standard P320 (6.6 to 6.8 inches), and the barrel length increases to five inches. Weight increases to 35.6 ounces, but includes a removable grip weight.
