Glock 17 Edc - Can you tell us about the gun? This was an interesting topic at the Kyle Defoor 2 day pistol course I attended. This topic was brought up during one of the breaks to free his eyes from filming during the day.
A common response to someone asking a friend about a gun is: It's a Glock 17 9mm and I've put thousands of rounds through it. Those are true, but they're not what Kyle was looking for.

The reason for this, as Kyle explained, is to teach your immediate family, friends you shoot with, or people you serve with (if they're law enforcement) in case you ever have to pick up and use a gun. A rare case of being knocked out in a firefight or rendered useless in a home invasion.

I oscillate between a small Glock 26 and a full size Glock 17. I did most of my training with the Glock 17 and it's comfortable to hide under a t-shirt, so that's what we're talking about. After attending Kyle Defoor's 2 day pistol class, I made some modifications.
First upgrade for almost every handgun I've bought. The Glock 17 running sights are XS Big Dots. Both the front and rear have tritium inserts for low light.
XS Big Dots are great for close combat (15 yards or less). All you have to do is "dot the I" and pull the trigger. Wherever you place the large front sight, projectiles will make an impact, provided you have the right grip and trigger control.
XS Big Dots can also be used from 15 yards. At up to 15 yards, instead of putting a big dot where you want to hit it, put the top edge of the dot where the round hits. This scope has proven to be accurate out to 100 yards for right-handed users. With a little practice, you should have no problem accurately capturing targets at 25 yards.
